Below is a transcript of a Duaa made by Shaykh Zufiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi (D.B) on the 27th night of Ramadaan.
(N.B Some guidelines for the Duaa are discussed first)
Allah Almighty says in the Qur`aan Majid:
ولله الأسماء الحسنى فادعوه بها
Wa lillaahil Asmaaul Husnaa Fad’u hu bihaa.
“And Allah has the most beautiful names, so invoke him by them.”
Practicing on this Aayah (verse) we will call onto Allah Rabbul Izzah by these names.
It comes in the Hadith that from all the names of Allah there is one name, the Isme-Aadham (greatest name), when supplication is made using this name, the Duaa will be accepted.
From all the 99 names, we do not know which one is the Isme-Aadham but we are sure that it is one of them, we will therefore invoke Allah by calling on all these names and by doing so we will have more Yaqeen (certainty) about the acceptance of our Duaa.
Yaqeen (certainty) in our Duaa
We must have faith when making the Duaa. Our condition must be like the child who wants something desperately and starts crying at the mother’s feet, the child does not look left or right and is not concerned about the aunt, neighbour or relative who might be seated there, but keeps calling out to his mother who then fulfils his request. Today we have needs to ask from Allah, we will not look left and right to see who is seated there, we will connect ourselves to Allah Ta’ala.
O Allah, till now we have displeased you by our deeds, on this blessed night we will not leave until we earn your pleasure! O Allah, accept our fasting, accept our Taraweeh, accept our I’tikaaf. O Allah, our conditions are straitened, remove us from these straitened conditions, remove the troubles from our homes.
When we will call unto Allah like this, undoubtedly the mercy of Allah will descend.
The method of reciting the Asmaa-Ul-Husnaa
After each name is called out, you will all say Yaa-Allah. Just as a child calls out to his mother Ammi, Ammi, Ammi (Mom, Mom, Mom), even if the mother does not want to give the child, she will still take it out and give it, today you all will call unto ((Allah, Allah, Allah)) so that Allah’s mercy will be written for the people of this place. Call unto Allah from the depth of your heart. By the will of Allah, if you call out to him in this manner your Duaa will be accepted.
Subhaana Rabbiyal Aa’lal Wahhaab (Glory be to My Lord, the Exalted, The Bestower)
(Begins with salutations on the Prophet Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Sallam)
Allahumma Salli Alaa Sayyidina Muhammadiw Wa Alaa Aalihi Wa Baarik Wa Sallim
Rabbana dhalamna anfusana Wa il-lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakunanna minal khaasireen. (Oh Our Lord! We have wronged our souls and if you do not forgive us and have mercy on us we will be from the losers)
(Shaykh Zulfiqar D.B then recited the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah in the method explained above)
